Fire up the smoker and get ready for a bold, smoky twist on a classic favorite. Our BBQ Chicken Pizza starts with homemade dough, is topped with Running Code BBQ Sauce, and lets you get creative with your favorite toppings. Perfect for backyard gatherings or a fun family dinner night!

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 1 packet (2 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1½ cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4½ cups flour

For the Pizza:

  • Running Code BBQ Sauce (for the base)
  • Cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • Fresh spinach
  • Sliced olives
  • Artichoke hearts
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • Optional: Add any other favorite toppings!

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit for 3–5 minutes until foamy. Add the oil, salt, and flour. Mix until combined, then knead the dough by hand for 5–6 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size.
  2. Build the Pizzas: Divide the dough in half. Roll or stretch each half onto a pizza pan lined with parchment paper. Spread a generous layer of Running Code BBQ Sauce over the base. Add cooked chicken, spinach, olives, artichoke hearts, and your favorite toppings. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  3. Smoke the Pizza: Preheat your smoker to 400°F. Place the pizza (with parchment paper) into the smoker. After 5–10 minutes, carefully remove the parchment paper. Continue cooking for about 20 minutes total, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Slice, Serve, and Enjoy: Remove from the smoker, slice, and serve hot.
